A tour of my temporary home

Hi there, I put a video together so you could get a little taste of what this place is like. Just click on the link below to go to my google album, then click on the blue picture to the right to watch it. I can do more of this but it takes time to put together. Let me know what you think,

Hey Cliff,
I went to grad school with Erin and Karen. I remember partying with you guys on a St. Patty's Day in St Paul about 5 years ago and a few trips to Bucca! Anyway Karen gave me your blog address...very interesting. The video is really cool too! I married a military man so I know a bit about how the government works (and no you shouldn't trust them! haha). I hope you are hanging in there. Take care and looking forward to some more stories from you.

Nice work on the video! Care package is coming. Tree came down in your yard or on the edge of it. I rented a chainsaw to take care of it but those well equipped neighbors of yours already had a plan. Good neighbors! It's been raining non stop so your yard didn't get mowed. It will be pretty thick when I get to it again. Lots of flooding and mudslides going on around Trempealeau, but all is well here. The videos have helped me come up with ideas for what to send you, so keep it up 'Spielberg'. Do you have a TV? If so, does it have RCA jacks (audio, video input)?

Hi Cliff -
We (Brian & I) enjoyed the video .. still a little surreal to see you over there. I wish ever day for the time to fly by for you. Checking in on the Mrs to see how she's doing and will see her in October actually. I'm enjoying the pics of Rosie, as I'm sure you are. Will be getting a note and some pictures in the mail here soon ... to add to your wall of "Things that make people happy". :) Take care and keep writing. ~Shannon

Great to see and hear you on your video. You did a great job. It is hard to show people where you live and what you do when it really isn't anything grand. When I first was overseas we stayed in 8 man tents and then we moved to 56 man bays. (at least when we moved to the 56 man bays we were closer to the chow hall and our motor pool-what a plus) Not much fun to live with that many women. Oh how I loved those bathrooms. There is nothing like going to the bathroom in one trailer and then going into another traier to take a shower.
Your thinking on how much time you have left is very good. Whatever makes it sound good, right?
Take care and we would love to see some video and pics of the workplace. Are the temps cooling down yet? It seemed like it was mid to end of Sept before the temps were better. At least you should start seeing better temps thru the night.
Keep on smiling. Michelle

Hi Cliff

Your in laws were here in Alaska to visit us. they told us where you were and how to get a hold of you. As you know I was in the USAF for 20 years and have done a bit of temp duty stuff. You have what it takes to get this done, but it will not be fun. Karen and I will pray for you each day, and then trust you will be taken care of. May God Bless you and make your time go fast.

Hi Cliff! Surprise........it's your cousin Bridget who asks about you alot and reads your blog but never writes or comments. My apologies about that. As life flies by so quickly, I forget to stop and connect with family and friends as I should. I am completly enjoying reading your blog and seeing what you have been doing. You come form a very creative family and I know that will help pass the time. I got to see you brother Chris this summer and his family. It was so nice to see them. It's strange to see how all the kids keep getting older yet, here I am, not aging a day. So what if I have a teenager now.........it just means he's gonna catch up to me pretty quick. Well, I hope you know that there are a lot of people out here thinking about you and hoping your time flies by. Love, Bridget

hi cousin! I really enjoyed your video, and love keeping track of you by reading the blog. I hope your new view of your time there makes it easier on you - I can't imagine how hard it is to be so far from home and loved ones for so long. in one short month we'll know what it feels like from the parents side when Kyle gets over there - can't say I'm looking forward to it, but I'm so PROUD of you both for what you are doing and sacrificing for our country! take care of yourself and keep blogging!

love, pam
